How to Reach Andaman

By Air

The primary gateway to the Andaman and Nicobar Islands is Veer Savarkar International Airport (IXZ) in Port Blair. Direct flights connect Port Blair with major Indian cities such as Chennai, Kolkata, and Delhi, with flight durations ranging from 2.5 to 3.5 hours. Airlines like IndiGo, Air India, and SpiceJet operate regular services. The best time to visit is between November and April when the weather is pleasant and flights operate smoothly.

By Train

There are no train services to the Andaman Islands due to their island geography. The nearest railheads on the mainland are Chennai Central, Kolkata Howrah, and Delhi Railway Stations, from where travelers take connecting flights to Port Blair.

By Road

Since the Andaman Islands are located in the Bay of Bengal, road travel is not possible to the islands themselves. However, once you arrive in Port Blair, TravMe’s private cab services provide comfortable transfers to key locations such as the Cellular Jail, Ghandi Park, and onward ferry terminals for Havelock and Neil Islands. Ferries and speedboats connect Port Blair with Havelock Island (approximately 1.5 to 2 hours) and Neil Island (around 45 minutes), making island hopping convenient and scenic.
